GSCC replaced by Health Professionals Council

The  1st August marked the closure of the General Social Care Council (GSCC), from now on the professional registration of social workers will sit within the Health Professionals Council (HPC). The Health Professionals Council approaches continuing professional development (cpd) differently from the GSCC. Whereas the GSCC focused on ensuring social workers completed a certain number of hours of CPD over a 3 year period, the HPC looks for evidence of engagement in a range of different learning opportunities, and how the learning has improved the individual worker’s professional practice. The Social Work Reform Board has developed a new framework for cpd which is in line with the HPC’s requirements. Griffin Care’s courses are totally compatible with the cpd framework as they are designed to evidence the learning outcomes for each delegate individually.
