Afrah Qassim (Savera)

Savera is a charity dedicated to tackling domestic abuse within BAMER (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee) communities to change attitudes towards DA and harmful practices such as forced marriage, ‘honour’ based violence and female genital mutilation. Afrah has worked within communities tackling these issues through both her charity work and her role as a Community Development Worker for Liverpool Primary Care Trust. Afrah is able to provide real examples and case study material from her work to provide delegates with a realistic practical observation of the problems victims face day to day.
